SAFE, NON-TOXIC MOLD REMEDIATION
When we remediate mold, we start at the source. Once all mold sources are corrected, we proceed to the physical removal of mold growth, mold spores, and tiny fungal fragments that float around in the indoor air. Our equipment and processes ensure that you are left with a clean, safe, healthy and non-toxic environment.
Mold Remediation Starts at the Source
If you don’t eliminate mold sources, mold will most assuredly return. We start at the source – no cleaning or remediation activities are performed until all mold sources are properly resolved.
Mold Remediation is Physical Removal
Mold remediation is the physical removal of mold growth, mold spores, and associated fungal/biological particulate. No chemical baths, no spray and pray, no toxic or harsh products.
Mold Remediation Activities are Verified
All of our mold remediation projects include post remediation verification of the services that we have provided. No remediation job is complete without proper verification.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Much Does Mold Remediation Cost?
Mold remediation costs vary considerably from job to job. Smaller, less complex jobs are usually under $5,000, while large, complex projects involving multiple trades can cost into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. We provide no-cost, no-obligation remediation pricing that is straightforward with no gimmicks.
Do You Have Payment Options or Financing?
We accept credit cards or checks, and we do offer financing options through a third party. If you need financing, local banks and online specialty lenders are your best options.
What Causes Mold Growth in Homes?
In all cases of mold inside of the built environment, excess or undesirable moisture is the catalyst for mold growth. Many factors can lead to excess moisture that causes mold growth including high humidity, improperly functioning HVAC systems, inadequate roof/attic ventilation, water leaks, wind-blown rain, soil moisture, improperly installed or missing insulation, improperly installed or missing waterproofing or vapor barriers, etc.
Are Mold Remediation & Mold Removal the Same?
Yes. Mold remediation and mold removal are used interchangeably and mean the same thing. Mold removal should be considered mold remediation, which involves correcting moisture sources prior to physically removing mold growth and its associated byproducts.
How Should Mold Remediation Be Performed?
The goal of any mold remediation project is to physically remove mold growth and its associated by-products, thereby restoring your home to IICRC Condition 1 – Normal Fungal Ecology. Proper mold remediation requires specialized tools, machinery, and cleaning methods to remove mold growth, mold spores, mycotoxins and other inflammagens from the indoor environment.
What is Small Particle Cleaning And Should I Be Concerned?
Small particle cleaning addresses the very tiny particulate matter that are often found in water damaged or mold environments. Recent research has identified approximately 30 inflammagens that can be found in water damaged environments, and their removal is very important in restoring an indoor environment to a normal, unaffected condition. Not all mold remediation companies use methods or processes that address these small particles, so it is important that you choose a company (such as MaxxResto) that will address small particles as part of the remediation process.
Should I Be Concerned About Mold Exposure?
Yes. Mold is a type of fungus that grows in damp or humid conditions and can be commonly found in indoor environments with water damage or other moisture problems. Exposure to mold indoors can pose a variety of health risks, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions, allergies, compromised immune systems, or sensitivities to mold spores. Health effects may include nasal congestion, coughing, throat irritation, eye discomfort, skin rashes, fatigue, brain fog or memory recall issues, and in more severe cases, asthma exacerbation or respiratory infections.
Certain types of mold, such as Stachybotrys Chartarum (commonly referred to as “black mold”) and others, may produce mycotoxins that can contribute to more significant health effects, although the extent of these risks remains a subject of ongoing research.
Prolonged or chronic exposure to mold indoors or by certain individuals can lead to more serious conditions such as Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), the development of or the worsening of conditions such as asthma or bronchitis, or sometimes life threatening conditions such as pulmonary Aspergillosis or invasive Aspergillosis.
How Long Does Mold Remediation Take?
Smaller projects can be completed in a couple of days or less. Larger, more complex projects can take weeks, or even months to complete. Our goal on every mold remediation project is to restore the indoor environment to a pre-loss condition as quickly as possible.
Can I Clean Mold Myself & Can I Use Bleach?
If you have a small or limited mold issue, you can definitely clean it up yourself, but you should ensure that you know what you are doing so that you don’t spread the mold throughout your house or cause unnecessary mold exposure to yourself or other occupants. Household Bleach should never be used to clean mold, as Bleach alone is not efficient at penetrating the cell walls of certain molds, and bleach is much more harsh that other available products or cleaning methods.
Does Mold Go Away on it's Own?
No – mold will no go away on its own. Most molds tend to enter a dormant phase if moisture levels become inadequate to support further growth. Dormant mold can grow again at any time that moisture levels can support growth. Additionally, dormant mold growth and mold spores are still antigenic and can cause many of the same health effects as active mold growth and mold spores do.
Should a Verification Test Be Performed After Remediation?
If very small, localized mold issues are remediated properly, PRV testing may not be necessary. But in most cases, and especially when dealing with large scale mold contamination or with occupants who have building related illnesses, PRV testing is a must. PRV testing is usually the best indicator of whether remediation has been performed successfully or not.
